Watercress Chinese Detox Soup

My youngest, I recently learned is going through some issues similar to his sister. During the summertime, Ol develops a rash on the back of his thigh. At first, I thought the rash was due to the hot weather. The build-up of sweat. Unfortunately, in September, the rash had gotten worse. The weather was getting cooler, but the skin was not getting better. I suddenly realize he is developing food sensitivity like Char. Ol is a picky eater, who only seems to love milk and eggs.

Doctor Visit

My little one is a little more hard to reason with. I have my concerns. I address my worries to the Doctor. She said the skin had worsened due to the clothing that comes in contact with his skin. Fleece material is irritating to the skin. Dries out the skin. Those with eczema should only wear loose cotton nothing synthetic. Man-made materials do not allow the skin to breathe. And it irritates the skin.

Eliminate Stage

The first set of instructions from the Doctor is what I expected. The elimination stage. What I need to do is to eliminate dairy, eggs, gluten, and sugar. With dairy, I need to slowly introduce non-dairy milk and reduce the dairy. This allows him to slowly adjust and to eventually remove diary out of his system. Also, the naturopathic Doctor recommends watercress Chinese soup to help with his condition.

Watercress Chinese Detox Soup

1-2 bunches of watercress

6-10 dried dates

Gut bacteria connected to food sensitivity

Do you have a food sensitivity? Do you know someone with food sensitivity? What is food sensitivity? You could digest in the beginning but you cannot tolerate the food now. What could this mean? Gut bacteria are connected to food sensitivity?

Gut bacteria connected to food sensitivity

Gut Health

Gut health is important to help break down the food that can affect food sensitivity. If the gut is not functioning well it can cause ‘ leaky gut’. Therefore, it is essential to strengthening the gut to improve issues with food sensitivity. Probiotic would be one of the items to think about to help improve gut health.

All disease begins in the gut.

Leaky Gut

When the gut is weak, this can cause inflammation. This will affect food intolerance and food sensitivities in the gut. Once the immune system is triggered, the food item that is moving along by the digestive system will affect the body. This is what cause food sensitivities.

Gut bacteria connected to food sensitivity

The gastrointestinal tract is linked to the immune system and food allergy. Helping our body with good bacteria, this protect against forming any food allergies. Microbiome is important and good for our health.

Things to consider

The first thing to do is to test for food sensitivity. The next step to eliminate any food your body is sensitive to. To remove any item your body is sensitivity to, this allows the gut to heal and reduce the body from reacting to the food item. Do have a wide variety of fruit, vegetables, and food items. Therefore, this allows the body to have more of a balanced diet.

Gut restoration

The essential item is to heal the gut.

  • Probiotic/ supplement increase healthy bacterial to the gut
  • Fasting – not eating for a time to allow the gut to rest and heal
  • Cooked food – raw food will make the body work harder so cooked food is better for the body
